Sikou Yan merely smiled and gestured for her to proceed.

Ji Tianxin placed the wine pot on the table. Miraculously, despite the uneven surface of the rooftop, the small table stood perfectly steady without the slightest wobble.

"Your Highness!" Lin Si’s voice suddenly called out from below.

Ji Tianxin and Sikou Yan looked down simultaneously to see Lin Si holding a food box. With a grin, Lin Si flicked his wrist upward, sending the box soaring through the air. Sikou Yan moved his hand with casual grace, catching the box with unerring precision.

Ji Tianxin’s gaze followed the box from the ground up, then settled on Sikou Yan’s hand. He pursed his lips into a smile. "Hungry?"

Ji Tianxin gave her lips a quick lick with her small tongue and nodded obediently. Seeing her look like such a little glutton, Sikou Yan could not help but laugh with indulgence. He opened the box, revealing not only chilled cherries but also several other delicacies.

At the sight of the food, Ji Tianxin’s eyes brightened instantly. They shone so brilliantly that they seemed to dim the very moonlight. Sikou Yan reached up and removed his mask, his features—as striking as a demon’s and as ethereal as an immortal’s—seeming to illuminate the entire space.

Ji Tianxin turned her gaze toward him, the corners of her mouth curling up slightly. "A-Yan is very good-looking."

Ji Tianxin was forgetful; sometimes, she might forget words she had spoken before. For instance, she had forgotten that this was the second time she had complimented his appearance. Her voice, delicate and cold, remained soft and faint, much like the girl herself. Yet, every time these words reached Sikou Yan’s ears, they warmed his heart.

This little girl... she truly was... how could she be so endearing? Fortunately, Xin'er was just Xin'er, merely a child. To be kind to her, to cherish her, and to spoil her felt entirely natural.

"This is the second time you’ve complimented my looks, Xin'er," Sikou Yan said, his eyes smiling. "Don't tell me you only remember me because of my face?" If that were the case, he wondered if he should be grateful for having a face that made Xin'er remember him.

Ji Tianxin looked puzzled. "Eh? Is it?" In any case, her memory was poor, so if she had complimented him, then so be it. A-Yan was, indeed, good-looking.

"No," Ji Tianxin answered his previous question honestly. "Even if you were very ugly, I would still remember you."

Sikou Yan was left speechless.

"Because, if I want to remember, I will," Ji Tianxin said slowly.

Sikou Yan’s gaze fell to the wine and food on the small table. He poured a drink, his lips curving upward. "Then, Xin'er, do you *want* to remember me?"

Distracted by the sound of the pouring wine, Ji Tianxin looked at the cup of fruit wine he had prepared. "The roast chicken you made is delicious. So, I want to remember you. That way, it will be easy to find you next time."

Sikou Yan’s hand paused for a fleeting moment. He then chuckled, set down the wine pot, and handed the cup of fruit wine to Ji Tianxin. "As long as you remember, that is enough."

Yes, there had always been a voice in his heart: he wanted her to remember. As long as she remembered, that was all that mattered.

Ji Tianxin stared at the cup for a moment, dazed, before taking it and drinking. Having already consumed some fruit wine in the main hall, her small face was now flushed with a rosy hue.

"Then, Xin'er, can you tell me why it is that while you don't usually recognize people, you are certain to remember anyone you choose to?" Sikou Yan reclined casually, his eyes fixed on her small figure.
