Chapter 130: Don't You Remember Me?
The massive black python was as thick as an adult human, and every breath it exhaled carried a thick, nauseating stench. Battling it was a young man in a blue silk robe; though he appeared quite young, his combat skills were exceptional. Despite being covered in wounds, he had not yet fallen behind. However, if things continued this way, his stamina would soon give out.
"Mistress, what is that?" Suqing had never seen a python so large.
"A sub-beast," Ji Tianxin explained calmly. "It is a creature that has not yet awakened its spiritual wisdom, but has absorbed spiritual energy. It is neither a spirit beast nor a demonic beast, yet its combat prowess is far more ferocious than that of an ordinary animal. Hence, it is called a sub-beast."
Suqing understood. Since her mistress knew everything, it had become a habit for her to ask Ji Tianxin about anything she did not comprehend.
"Shiyue," Ji Tianxin called out.
Shiyue shook its head, letting out a voice even more youthful and delicate. "Master."
"Go, eat it," Ji Tianxin said with airy indifference.
Shiyue’s voice was laced with excitement. "Alright!"
Before the sound had even faded, Shiyue had already darted out and clamped its jaws onto the python’s vital spot. Before the giant snake died, it tried to thrash its body, but it was held so firmly by Shiyue that it could do nothing but be tossed repeatedly against the ground. The sight of such a tiny creature swinging a python several times its own size was both incongruous and terrifying. Moreover, the ferocious giant python was completely helpless, and after a few moments, it was killed by the small beast.
The young man watched in a daze, forgetting even the pain of his injuries.
Suddenly, Shiyue’s mouth expanded to the size of a large basin. It was as if there were a black hole within, and it began to swallow the giant python alive, bit by bit. Suqing averted her gaze; the sight had given her goosebumps all over. Soon, Shiyue had consumed the entire python, its tiny belly bulging so much that it rolled around on the ground. Suqing was truly baffled—how on earth could such a small thing swallow such a massive snake? It was simply inconceivable.
"Ji Tianxin? It’s you!" Si Han had recognized her the moment he saw the small beast, but he had been too stunned by the scene of Shiyue devouring the python to speak.
Ji Tianxin raised her head to look at the young man. "You know me?"
The joy that had originally been on Si Han’s face vanished, replaced by a dejected look. He stepped forward and asked, "Don't you remember me?"
"You look slightly familiar," Ji Tianxin replied slowly.
"This young master, my mistress suffers from face blindness, so... she doesn't really remember people's appearances," Suqing stepped forward to explain.
"Face blindness?" Si Han touched his own face. He thought he looked quite handsome; how could she not remember him?
"Hehe, then do you remember that we met in this forest not long ago? You even said you wanted to give me this little puppy." Si Han crouched in front of Ji Tianxin, deliberately leaning his face forward so she could get a good look at it.
At that moment, the "little puppy" Si Han referred to was still rolling on the ground, seemingly too full to move.
Ji Tianxin pondered for a moment, a trace of confusion appearing on her fair, delicate face.
"I remember now." She recalled it, and as she looked at Si Han, a faint smile curled at the corners of her lips. "It is you. I offered to give you Shiyue, but you refused."
