Chapter 131: Are You Happy to See Me?
Hearing her say this, Si Han glanced at the little creature rolling on the ground, and couldn't help but get goosebumps all over.
It was a good thing he hadn't wanted it; even if someone offered it to him now, he wouldn't dare take it. He was afraid of being swallowed in a single bite—this little thing was capable of eating people, after all.
The scene just now had been chilling even to him, yet this little girl showed no fear at all, remaining so calm... This girl was truly, profoundly strange.
However, as Ji Tianxin smiled like this, her clear, cool, and delicate face seemed to bloom like a budding snow lotus, making Si Han smile with delight as well. He felt as though his very heart had been healed.
"Little sister, look at how beautiful your smile is. Children should smile more often." Although Si Han had only met Ji Tianxin twice, this was the first time he had seen her smile.
"I will smile if I am happy," Ji Tianxin answered in a slow, steady, and earnest tone.
Si Han had no way to refute that; so, she hadn't been happy before?
But as his thoughts shifted, he grew cheerful again. "Does that mean you are very happy to see me?" He couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement.
Ji Tianxin slowly faded her smile. Staring at Si Han, who was crouching in front of her, she answered languidly under his expectant gaze: "Not entirely. It was mostly out of courtesy."
Her voice, milky and childish, was serious and indifferent. To Si Han’s ears, it was frustrating... yet he couldn't say anything back, and he couldn't bring himself to be angry.
He felt a strange urge to turn around and draw circles on the ground...
His heart was a little wounded.
Su Qing maintained a calm expression, though her slightly trembling lips betrayed her current state of mind.
She thought to herself: I wonder when our Master met this young man who looks as pretty as a young girl? Could it have been when our Master left the estate last time?
Si Han changed the subject, reaching out to pat Ji Tianxin on the head. "Anyway, thank you for your help this time, little Tianxin!"
Ji Tianxin shook her head. "It was nothing."
Her gaze, however, turned toward the small patch of grass that the giant python had been guarding, where a faint halo of light was radiating.
Si Han followed her gaze, his face showing surprise, and he was about to say something.
"In any case, it couldn't have killed you," Ji Tianxin added in a measured, methodical tone.
Si Han: "..."
How could such a small girl be unable to finish what she had to say all at once?
"Are you here for those spirit herbs too?" he asked, curious.
Ji Tianxin looked at him, blinked, and countered, "Do you want them?"
Her bright, watery eyes clearly reflected Si Han’s face, and with that "looking-up" gaze that was truly hard for anyone to resist, Si Han found he couldn't bring himself to say he wanted them, even if he did.
Why were children nowadays so adorable? It was truly hard not to be soft-hearted toward them.
"Ahem..." Si Han coughed lightly, straightened his voice, and waved his hand generously. "I don't want them! If you want them, take them all!"
"Oh," Ji Tianxin replied. "Actually, I was going to say that if you wanted them, I would share half with you. Since you don't want them, then never mind."
Si Han’s face instantly twisted into a bitter expression. "..." Could this little girl not finish her sentences all at once?
Ji Tianxin looked at him, puzzled, and asked in her milky voice, "Are you unhappy?"
Si Han immediately shook his head. "No, no."
Not only was he not unhappy, he felt a strange sense of satisfaction.
Yes, there was just something incredibly satisfying about giving everything to her!
