Chapter 132: Who on earth are you people?
Ji Tianxin did not like to think too much, and she was simple by nature.
So when Si Han said no, she took it as a no.
But when someone harbored ill intentions toward her, she needed no thought to distinguish them at a glance.
It was an instinct people possessed for seeking advantage and avoiding harm.
Only, hers happened to be far sharper than that of ordinary people.
“These spirit plants must have grown here only recently. They should have already been here when this little fellow emerged, but at the time, everyone’s attention was fixed on it. That was why they overlooked these treasures. Otherwise, with those people’s greed, how could they possibly have let them go?” Si Han said with a smile, a hint of mockery in his voice.
Ji Tianxin nodded, then continued forward.
Su Qing also took two steps ahead, but did not follow. Instead, she looked at the young master with curiosity.
Sensing Su Qing’s gaze, Si Han glanced at her as well. A trace of surprise crossed his eyes, and his expression grew somewhat solemn.
“Perfect Marrow Cleansing? Little girl, you are so young, yet already possess such cultivation. Just who exactly are you?”
Si Han had made some inquiries a few days earlier, but he had not heard of any such young girl from any of the prominent clans. That only made him more curious about Ji Tianxin’s identity.
None of the Eight Great Clans bore the surname Ji, nor did any of the Four Great Forces.
Could she be from one of the sects? But weren’t the sects forbidden from involving themselves in worldly affairs?
Hearing the astonishment in Si Han’s voice, Su Qing raised her chin proudly.
“I belong to my mistress.”
Si Han was speechless for a moment. It sounded as though she had said nothing at all.
In Su Qing’s eyes, Ji Tianxin was her support and her background.
But in Si Han’s estimation, Ji Tianxin was probably merely an ordinary martial artist, perhaps the child of some prominent clan with unusually high aptitude. Since he could not detect her cultivation, she had likely not yet reached the Marrow Cleansing realm.
Yet even one of her maids had attained perfect Marrow Cleansing.
Her status therefore could not possibly be low.
Ji Tianxin’s background was certainly far from simple.
Si Han pondered this in silence.
By then, Ji Tianxin had already reached the patch of spirit plants. She swept her gaze over them and felt relieved. Fortunately, the plants that had grown alongside the ferocious beast were no ordinary varieties.
Their spiritual energy was even denser than that of the plants she had found earlier. One of them could be used to refine Hunger-Quelling Pills. Perhaps because it had grown in the presence of the Glutton, it had developed into a spirit plant particularly suited to its nature.
With a casual wave of her slender hand, she collected every one of the spirit plants into her storage ring.
Si Han had seen the storage ring the last time, so he was not surprised by it.
What did surprise him was that although he had sensed no obvious cultivation from Ji Tianxin’s sweep of her sleeve, an indescribable pressure had nevertheless descended upon him.
He frowned. His curiosity about the little girl’s identity deepened at once.
Once Ji Tianxin had gathered the spirit plants, the entire patch lay bare. Even its spiritual energy had vanished.
By the time Shiyue ran over, the ground was already empty and desolate. Its belly was still round and full, yet it continued sniffing about, searching for something by scent.
In the end, it found nothing. It simply leaped back onto Ji Tianxin’s shoulder and sprawled there lazily.
Si Han’s attention was drawn to Shiyue as well. After hesitating for a moment, he asked, “This little fellow… is it truly a ferocious beast?”
He still remembered what Ji Tianxin had said the last time, which was why he asked.
But as for what it actually was, he had no idea.
