Volume 1, Chapter 31: Caught a Drunken Cat Last Night
The warm breath lingering near her ear trailed down her delicate, pale neck, coming to a rest against her collarbone.
Fierce, lingering kisses rained down.
As her waist was lifted, the tingling sensation at her collarbone left her limbs feeling weak.
A low voice murmured in her ear, asking once more, "Do you want to?"
The heat bled into the air, traveling with her breath deep into her body, where it festered into an itch within her heart...
...
Wang Yan’s gaze darkened at these words. He tightened his grip on the dagger, a vicious glint appearing in his eyes as he looked at Feng'er. A thought to take her hostage stirred within him, and he prepared to act.
Tang Zixi, terrified that Yun He might be hurt again, held him tightly, using her own body to shield him.
"Brother Hao, when are we going back to North Garden?" Ever since he had been able to walk again, Qin Bo had asked me this more than once.
There is always someone better than you, and a sky beyond the sky; that is entirely true. One might think oneself an expert, only to realize that there are always those more skilled, and mountains higher than the one you stand upon. It is a strange thing: the more one fixates on a matter, the less it tends to go as planned, while the things one overlooks often yield unexpected results.
"You abducted me—why don't you want me anymore?" Liu Yan'er’s voice was somewhat cold, different from her usual self.
"Nangong Xiangyang, are you truly determined to wipe me out!" Beigong Shaohua roared at the troops. A man emerged from the ranks of the Green Armor Army; ignoring Beigong Shaohua’s roar, he raised his long blade high and brought it down with a fierce strike.
In the end, seeing He Lang walking away while incessantly cursing himself for being insensitive and refusing to come out, he remained hesitant, as if engaged in a battle of wills; he simply did not want to show his face.
Wang Yan casually poured a glass of water and walked to the bedside. As their eyes met, Wang Yan caught a flicker of trepidation in Su Su’s gaze.
The meal left everyone present feeling mentally exhausted, though, on the surface at least, it appeared harmonious, a state with which Master Shao was quite satisfied. Just as everyone had finished their fill and was bracing themselves to stay up for the New Year’s vigil, the butler rushed in, announcing that a man had arrived to see the Third Young Master.
"How arrogant!" Being the closest to Mo Song, Old Li reached him first, throwing a punch toward him, followed immediately by attacks from Monkey and Brother Long.
These local gentry were all skinflints; it was truly no easy task to squeeze any profit out of them.
Before entering Xuzhou City, the Huainan Army had encountered two waves of Huai Army charges, suffering over ten thousand casualties. This assault on Xuzhou City had cost them another ten thousand or so, leaving the Huainan Army, originally numbering one hundred thousand, with a fighting force of just over seventy thousand.
In the vast majority of cases, there exists a stretch of terrain between high mountain ranges and plains—a highland lying between the two. The region east of the Rocky Mountains is no exception.
He could not possibly be a fool; the Fairy Bailing had made it clear enough, so how could he not understand?
"You should return. The blessings of the gods are not so easily obtained; they are rewards granted only to those with steadfast faith." Ku Ai did not agree to their request, acting in accordance with the White Wolf's instructions.
It was precisely because he had done it for my sake that I felt so bewildered and terrified. If others were to find concrete evidence, we would both be plunged into an abyss from which there is no return. Perhaps even Brother Lu Pan would be unable to protect us—or perhaps Brother Lu Pan himself was inextricably linked to this affair?
Unexpectedly, Zhang Fei’s large hand clamped directly onto the base of the jar, forcing Li Chen’s head back as he poured the wine down his throat. It was only after more than half the jar had been drained that Zhang Fei finally pulled his hand away.
Pudu looked at Bai Tianxing with a beaming smile, as if to say, "I have already seen through your intentions; there is no need to be shy. We are all on the same side; I will help you with this favor."
Seeing Ning Ye walk into the room unscathed, Nangong Ritian, who was in the middle of treating the charred remains of Chu Ran in the main hall, wore an expression as if he had seen a ghost.
