Volume 1, Chapter 41: Delivering a Substantial Gift
By the time the plane landed, three hours had already passed.
On the drive home, Wen Yang called Wen Zhe more than a dozen times.
When her phone had only a few bars of battery left, the call finally connected.
Wen Zhe’s voice came from the other end. “So you’ve only just remembered that you have a father?”
After Fu Liuyin returned to the classroom, she wanted to call Mu Jincheng, but the class bell rang just then.
Ye Mo’s good mood lasted all the way until he returned home to Green Homeland. Seeing the house that belonged entirely to him made him even more satisfied.
Shen Zhan frowned as well. He had intended to have those people enter quietly, but it seemed that they had already alerted the enemy.
Yi Wenqing wiped away a tear and pushed open the hospital-room door. Seeing Yiming Shan, who had once indulged him in every way, made him even more heartsick and brought tears to his eyes. Now, there was no one left to indulge Yi Wenqing’s temper or accommodate his every whim.
Unfortunately, the consciousness of the Primal Domain Realm, combined with the power of the First Ancestral Dragon, had created an incomparably sturdy seal. It still held them firmly captive, leaving them unable to break through. These ancient beasts possessed tremendous strength and had once reached the Transcendent Realm.
Chen Zi’an stood there expressionlessly, his eyes concealed beneath overly long bangs that gave him a somewhat gloomy air. His lips were tightly pressed together, and he held a telephone cord in his hand.
Apart from the worshipful elders and other Earth Immortals, the rest were all geniuses from the top echelon.
All the vines came rushing toward Yang Lie, each one bristling with sharp wooden spines capable of easily piercing a person through.
Since Maxis and Xielina had arrived, this was the first time Lang Zhan had smiled so sincerely. Yet just as Maxis’s sincerity had previously seemed scheming and sly in his eyes, this smile immediately struck Xielina as nothing more than false politeness and a smile that never reached the eyes.
When ordinary people reached his age, their brain waves were no longer as clear as they had been in their youth, and they could go offline at any moment. For that reason, most of them no longer logged into the game. Those who did return usually only tended to their gardens and admired the scenery.
After last night’s battle, Gao Jun had already grasped his opponent’s strength and fighting style. Having deliberately undergone such an extreme simulation exercise against the invisible warrior, he felt even more confident.
“Instructor, it’s done. Just wait and listen for the big bang.” Lian Hai and Feng Han caught up with him.
While I was still hesitating, Yanyan chased me back to Azure Cloud Heaven. Seeing that I intended to harm her master, she drew her sword first and thrust it at me. I dodged, and at the same time released Miao Qinghua.
The moment I stepped inside, a moldy, rotten smell rushed toward me. The room was chilly, dust lay everywhere, and the place looked as though it had long since been abandoned.
“Hongxue, why did you leave? Why did you call off our engagement?” Mo Xiaosheng gazed blankly at the objects Ouyang Hongxue had left behind in the embroidered tower, his heart twisting as though cut by a knife.
Let alone a markup of one or two times—even if the price were ten times higher, Li Zhi would still refuse to sell if he did not want to. There are so many things in this world that you like; does that mean you can buy every one of them?
After all, the new power system of the battle tank at Jiang University was capable of temporarily breaking the sound barrier. Its power was certainly far greater than Chen Chen’s.
After a while, Zhuge Tong took out his phone and directly called Xia Mingze, who was seated in the first vehicle.
It was difficult to say anything about the opponent’s internal battle-tank structure or its various systems, but the fixed front shovel’s angle and length had clearly been expanded and extended to a considerable degree.
The restaurant staff worked with remarkable efficiency. Within fifteen minutes, all the dishes had been served, covering an entire large table. Passing old professors could only shake their heads and sigh that standards had fallen and young people had become excessively wasteful.
