Chapter 42: Welcome to the Horror World (11)
Fan Sijin forced down her terror and maintained a smile on her face.
In the end, that black object stopped abruptly right in front of her face, then coiled around her neck. Its icy and chilling touch made her involuntarily shudder.
A chilling and indifferent aura appeared behind her ear, asking her: "So, why didn't you come to make compensation of your own accord..."
Behind her, the headmaster's aura had turned chilling to the extreme: "So... why didn't you come to make compensation of your own accord?"
Fan Sijin once again experienced that hair-raising sensation of being enveloped by endless terror. Every pore on her body seemed to stand on end, causing her entire body to stiffen.
Filled with dread in her heart, she forced a meek smile onto her face: "I saw that axe just now, Headmaster, and I was just eager to bring the things to you."
As her voice trailed off, the restrained man materialized before her, a pair of dark golden eyes cold and indifferent: "Is that so?"
Fan Sijin's eyes were full of sincerity: "Headmaster, I speak absolute truth."
"It seems you are truly loyal..."
The man suddenly closed the distance, flashing right up in front of her in an instant: "Then, accordingly, you still only need to pay the minimal price. This... is my reward for your loyalty to me."
Before his voice finished falling, the man's freezing breath reached her neck.
Fan Sijin's scalp went numb. Unable to hold back any longer, she instinctively wanted to dodge, but the fraction of a second before she could move away, the black entity tightly bound her body, rendering her completely immobile.
She could vividly feel the cold breeze approaching, sharp teeth piercing the skin of her neck. A sharp pain accompanied by that bizarre thrill washed over her once more. Fan Sijin forcefully endured this strange sensation, gritting her teeth hard so as not to let out a shameful sound like last time.
The man rolled a drop of blood into his mouth with the tip of his tongue and looked up in confusion: "Hmm? Does it not hurt anymore?"
Fan Sijin took a deep breath, struggling to calm her turbulent state of mind, frantically telling herself, "I can't beat him, I can't beat him." She managed to squeeze out a smile: "It's alright this time."
"Oh, really?" The man seemed deep in thought: "Then I'll be a bit heavier next time."
He added: "I really like hearing the sound of you being afraid of pain..."
Fan Sijin froze instantly, and then she heard him say: "You may go back. Bring me what I want as soon as possible."
The next instant, just like before, the scene before her eyes shifted violently, and she was back at the doorway of Class 1-10.
As soon as she pushed the door open, she saw Gao Yi inside the classroom looking pale.
At this moment, he was clutching one hand, bent over in pain with his back against the podium, wearing a look of sheer terror.
Fan Sijin saw that the pinky finger of the left hand he was clutching was missing.
The next second, the bell rang: "Ding-ding-dong, ding-ding-dong, off duty!"
The two morning classes were over; they were finally off duty for the morning.
The off-duty bell stopped very quickly. The moment Gao Yi closed his eyes, the ringing ceased. Acting as if he hadn't seen Fan Sijin, he turned and bolted quickly toward the gathering point as if fleeing for his life.
The head instructor had said that once off duty, they needed to return to Class 5 to gather, which meant... they no longer had to be responsible for the students in their respective classrooms.
Clearly, Gao Yi didn't want to stay a single second longer in the classroom.
When he ran to Class 9, he happened to run into Lu Ke, who was in a fluster fixing her clothes.
"Ke..."
Gao Yi stopped in his tracks and asked with concern, stepping forward: "Are you alright?"
He didn't see that by the window of Class 9, a student with the head of a wild boar and a human torso was looking at Lu Ke with lustful and evil eyes, smiling.
Lu Ke's face was deathly pale, the skin around her eyes red as if she had been crying. There were even quite a few reddish marks on her face and neck, which extended all the way down beneath her collar...
When she turned around and saw it was Gao Yi, she forced a smile, shook her, and said, "I, I'm fine. Senior, you, senior, you're hurt."
Gao Yi smiled bitterly: "It's already a blessing to keep our lives. Let's hurry and leave this place first."
The group quickly returned to the classroom of Class 1-5...
Upon returning here, everyone breathed a sigh of relief because there were no such "students" here, only their own people. It was currently the safest place.
As everyone arrived at the gathering point one after another, they realized that most people had not had an easy time.
The experienced veteran players were somewhat better off. Ren Guowei and the other two looked relatively uninjured; Ren Guowei, in particular, was neatly dressed.
Duan Ruman only had a little dirt on her clothes, but she was uninjured.
The bespectacled man, Wu Feng, had his glasses broken with one temple missing, but otherwise, he was fine.
Among that couple, Wei Wei was missing an ear, and his uniform was covered in blood. His girlfriend, He Yaoyao, looked even more wretched, with patchy areas of blood and baldness on her head—evidently, someone had forcibly ripped out her hair by the roots.
Even so, their situation was much better than that of the new players.
Gao Yi was in relatively good condition, having only lost a finger.
Lu Ke's roommate, Xiao Ruirui, walked dragging her feet as if her soles had been cut right down the middle. Her face was deathly pale, and she wept miserably, while her boyfriend, Liu Jun, was directly missing an arm—his right arm at that.
Compared to such misery, Lu Ke actually turned out to be in the best condition.
Gao Yi breathed a sigh of relief: "Ke, it's good that you're safe."
Lu Ke pressed her lips together and was silent for a brief moment. A trace of humiliation and fear flashed quickly in the depths of her eyes, but she quickly changed the subject: "I wonder how Senior Sister is doing. She..."
Gao Yi's expression stiffened slightly. He paused, seeming deeply reluctant to mention her: "Everyone has their own fate."
They all assumed that Fan Sijin was already dead!
After all, they were almost entirely wiped out just being responsible for a single classroom, whereas Fan Sijin had to shuttle between all the classrooms.
Duan Ruman, the woman in the red dress, sneered and whispered to Ren Guowei: "You have no idea how suicidal that Fan Sijin is. If she isn't the first one to die, I'll write my name backward."
Ren Guowei gave her a faint look: "Your judgment is still lacking."
Duan Ruman was stunned. At that moment, two more people walked in... and one of them was precisely Fan Sijin, holding a stack of English practice worksheets.
Not only was she not dead, but she looked relaxed, and her clothes were extremely neat and clean—showing no signs whatsoever of having suffered any torment.
Walking alongside Fan Sijin was Bai Li, who wore a duck-billed cap. The two entered one right after the other. Once inside, Bai Li stayed closely attached to Fan Sijin, not stepping away from her side even for an inch...
Lu Ke had just been telling Gao Yi with a face full of dismay how "pitiable" Fan Sijin was, never expecting the protagonist of their discussion to return looking so lively and completely unscathed.
Lu Ke's expression froze, and immediately her gaze darkened. She bit her lip in silence and said nothing more.
Duan Ruman, the woman in the red dress not far away, also froze, but she adjusted her expression quickly and sneered, "She really has great luck."
