He Baizhuo silently cursed “what a mess” in his heart but still handed a cigarette to Lu Ye. Glancing sideways, he noticed that the corridor at the far end was empty. Waving his hand, he said, “I’m going to get busy... Looking for someone? Young Master Lu, you can find them yourself.” This muddy water was one he didn’t want to wade into.

Gu Yan had already been pinned against the door by a man. She had originally been heading to the restroom but when she saw the figure leaning by the window smoking, only one thought flashed through her mind—what would it feel like not to be Lu Ye’s wife but Lu Wentian’s? To have Lu Ye call her “aunt”?

“What does it feel like to be your woman?” she asked, stepping up to Lu Wentian. Almost immediately, she was pulled into the empty room.

“Do you know who I am?” The man lifted her chin. Although the room was dimly lit, it was enough to clearly see his face close up—chiseled like a sword carving, divinely infuriating. The sketch she had drawn in her youth suddenly surged into her mind, alive and standing right in front of her. It still made her heart flutter.

“Uncle!” Gu Yan breathed out like fragrant orchids, making no effort to hide her desire to be with him. The audacious address was a stark contrast to her usual proper demeanor, and Lu Wentian’s eyes darkened.

“I’ll have a taste,” Gu Yan’s slightly intoxicated gaze fixed on his cigarette and delicate lips.

Lu Wentian frowned. “No.” He thought she meant the cigarette and, worried it would irritate her, took it away and stubbed it out.

But in the next moment, Gu Yan kissed him.

The man, long unruffled, let his brow twitch slightly, lowering his gaze to look at her. His hoarse voice carried a hint of meaning, “Lu Ye is outside.”

At first, Gu Yan was stunned. Then panic rose instinctively—though she had broken up with Lu Ye, if this were discovered, no one could explain it away.

Seeing the change in her eyes, Lu Wentian’s expression grew cold. Taking the initiative, he suddenly kissed her deeply.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!” Someone was pounding on the door.

They were pounding on the opposite door. It was Lu Ye.

“Gu Yan, I know you’re in there...” Lu Ye’s teasing voice called out, “Open up, and I’ll teach you how to play.”

Gu Yan, still too inexperienced, panicked and pushed Lu Wentian. “Aren’t you leaving?”

Lu Wentian’s face darkened. “I’m not ashamed?”

His kiss continued relentlessly, giving her no chance to speak.

Gu Yan was overwhelmed, her body softening repeatedly, falling and being caught by Lu Wentian again and again until he finally placed her on the entryway table.

“Knock knock knock!” The knocking suddenly sounded right beside them.

This time it was their own door.

Gu Yan’s heart jumped to her throat. Grabbing Lu Wentian’s collar, she whispered, “Lu Wentian...”

Lu Ye was insane. Just from his teasing tone, Gu Yan could tell he wanted to kill her.

“Beg me.” Lu Wentian seemed not to hear and deliberately played with his fingertips.

Gu Yan’s breath trembled. Clinging to his shoulder, she bit his ear and spoke softly.

The man’s Adam’s apple rolled heavily but he didn’t push further.

“Knock...” The door was knocked again.

It opened.

Lu Wentian was impeccably dressed, his depth profound. “What’s all this noise?”

Lu Ye was stunned, suspiciously looking at him. “Uncle? What are you doing here?”

Lu Wentian took off his watch. “Can’t I come?”

Lu Ye knew this was He Baizhuo’s place; he came here often.

“I’m looking for someone.” Lu Ye’s gaze involuntarily drifted inside.

Lu Wentian looked at him darkly but said nothing. He even turned sideways, leaning against the door and stepping aside to let him pass.

The more he did this, the less Lu Ye dared to barge in.

Though this uncle was only seven or eight years older, Lu Ye had learned the meaning of “death” from him.

“Take a look?” Lu Wentian’s face was expressionless. “If you don’t come in, I’ll close the door.”

Lu Ye’s tone softened slightly. “Uncle, if you have serious business, I won’t disturb you. Please go ahead.”

Lu Wentian responded with a hum and entered, closing the door behind him.

The moment the door shut, Gu Yan was pulled in and kissed fiercely.

“Lu Ye won’t be leaving tonight.”

He seemed to understand Lu Ye’s temperament, warning her that leaving now would be self-destructive.

“Then you still... mmm!” Gu Yan couldn’t catch her breath.

A light bite on her lip—Lu Wentian’s punishment. “Everything has a price.”

The more hesitant she was, the more Lu Wentian pressed on. Within two short minutes, the innocent Gu Yan was overwhelmed.

She pushed lightly against the man behind her. “I... it’s my first time.”

She couldn’t endure his position.

Lu Wentian’s movements froze.

He probably hadn’t expected someone who had been with Lu Ye for two years to be like this...

Then all restraint shattered. He lifted her single-handedly, clutching the back of her head, kissing her wildly.

By the time Gu Yan was laid onto the bed, her body was completely weak.

But she kept biting her lip—Lu Ye really hadn’t left.

“Let go of your lips.” Lu Wentian continued his mischief, softly coaxing her to release.

Gu Yan was furious—he must be doing this on purpose.

Overwhelming and crushing, she finally couldn’t hold back a sound.

She didn’t know how it ended, but in her dreams, she seemed to hear Lu Wentian calling “Yan Yan, Yan Yan.”

Such a restrained voice, just two simple syllables, saturated with raw passion.

The next morning, when Gu Yan opened her eyes, her whole body was sore.

This wasn’t riding a horse—was it like riding an elephant?

She blankly stared at the ceiling of the rented room.

“Yan Yan.” The man’s deep voice came.

“Hm?” Gu Yan responded instinctively, looking toward the balcony.

She saw Lu Wentian.

But he was on the phone, slightly bowed, speaking to someone.

Gu Yan’s mind went blank for a moment.

Her gaze fixed directly on Lu Wentian, his profile gentle.

Gu Yan had been with Lu Ye for two years, inevitably returning to the Lu family on weekends and meeting Lu Wentian many times, but she had never seen him so humble and down-to-earth.

So, the “Yan Yan” he called last night was someone else?

“Awake?” Lu Wentian put away his phone and looked at Gu Yan.

Gu Yan was fully sober now, already changed out of her clothes. Her first words were:

“Sorry, I mistook you last night.”

Drinking really was harmful; she regretted it now.

Lu Wentian’s eyes visibly darkened for a moment.

Then, as if with a faint smile, he said, “Mistook me for Lu Ye?”

Lu Ye had even come by, apparently cutting off her excuses.

Gu Yan pressed her lips together. “I... he’s my ex.”

Lu Wentian was silent.

“I was drunk, sorry.”

Gu Yan dared not meet his eyes. “Anyway, no harm done to either of us. Just pretend it never happened.”

She hastily gathered her things—bag and phone. “I have something to do, I’ll leave first. Do as you please.”

What could she possibly have to do?

Officially Lu Ye’s secretary, but really just a full-time housekeeper, now striking.

Gu Yan found her car and drove off.

Her heart was restless; she called Huali in the car.

“Baby? At this hour, aren’t you lining up at the supermarket for eggs?” Huali teased.

“I’ve committed a crime.”

“Oh? Give me your Alipay password? I’ll visit you in jail sometime...”

“I slept with Lu Wentian.”

Huali drawled, “Finally lost your virginity. How was the technique? ...”

“Several times.” Before she could say more, there was a sudden silence for two seconds.

“Who!?”

“Lu Wentian.”

Huali grabbed seven or eight blades of grass. “Sorry, Mrs. Lu, I was a bit loud just now. Can I be the bridesmaid?”

Gu Yan straightened. “Lu Wentian knows where I live. I want to crash at your place for a few days.”

Huali became serious. “What’s wrong? Is he not taking responsibility?”

Gu Yan took a deep breath. “It’s complicated to explain right now.”

Huali worried, “So you’re hiding from him? You’ve broken up with Lu Ye too. Sleeping with Lu Wentian is perfect—just become the fourth Mrs. Lu directly.”
