Chapter One Hundred and Eleven: Apology

Marrying into the family? How could that be possible? Sang Zheng felt that Lu Wenchuan was merely making empty promises, nothing useful at all.
What was truly infuriating was that their second child actually believed the nonsense. Sang Zheng was so angry that his head hurt and didn't want to see Sang Qiwu any longer.
Sang’s mother blinked after a brief pause, “Let’s talk about this later.”
“Alright.” Sang Qiwu also thought that Lu Wenchuan wanting to marry into their family wasn't a simple affair. The very first person who would object would likely be Lu Wenchuan’s grandfather.
“Where’s big brother?” Only then did Sang Qiwu realize Sang Qiwen wasn’t there. He looked around and asked, “Dad, Mom, did big brother go to drive?”
“Your big brother went back to work,” Sang’s mother shook her head and continued, “Come on, let’s head home too.”
“Oh.” Sang Qiwu wanted to ask why Sang Qiwen was still working so late, but seeing the fatigue on his mother’s face, he said nothing and quietly waited for the driver to bring the car around.
—
Inside the hospital room.
Sang Yijia looked at the door to make sure no one else would come in, then pulled out her phone from her pocket and carefully examined the saved images.
The beauty in the photo was truly captivating, and Sang Yijia compared it to her own figure. As the villainess, the original owner really had it all.
Her figure was much better than before she entered the story.
Tap tap tap, suddenly there was a knock at the door.
Sang Yijia quickly hid her phone under the pillow.
“Come in.”
Lu Wenchuan entered and saw Sang Yijia still awake, “Not asleep yet?”
“No.” Sang Yijia nodded awkwardly. Earlier, she didn’t want her family to stay with her, so she pretended to be asleep. Who would have thought only a few minutes had passed before Lu Wenchuan showed up.
“Are you feeling better?” Lu Wenchuan pushed open the door and switched on the light.
The bright white light was dazzling. It took Sang Yijia a while to adjust, “Much better.”
“Were you frightened this morning?” Sang Yijia found a topic, “I’m really sorry.”
“It’s fine. As long as you’re alright.” Lu Wenchuan was supposed to go home, but for some reason, he still wanted to check on Sang Yijia.
“Mm.”
Immediately, the atmosphere in the hospital room became inexplicably awkward.

Sang Yijia glanced at Lu Wenchuan, then asked, “It’s so late. Did you come to see me for something?”
“No,” Lu Wenchuan replied. “I just wanted to check on you.”
“Oh.” Sang Yijia truly had nothing else to talk about.
They sat in silence for a while. Lu Wenchuan, unsure what to say, checked the time. “You should rest early. I’ll come see you tomorrow.”
“Alright.” Sang Yijia agreed.
Lu Wenchuan left.
The hospital room was once again left with Sang Yijia alone. This time, she exited her photo gallery, placed her phone on the bedside cabinet, and closed her eyes to sleep.
Lu Wenchuan stood outside, staring at the closed door for a while before turning around, bumping into Sang Qibo making his rounds.
“You’re still here?” Sang Qibo, holding a medical chart and a thermos, saw the room’s lights were off and the Sang family nowhere in sight, likely gone home.
“Yeah, just came out,” Lu Wenchuan felt a bit embarrassed, as if caught in the act.
Sang Qibo didn’t seem to mind, continued with his thermos to check the next room, not sparing another glance at Lu Wenchuan.
Lu Wenchuan watched Sang Qibo walk toward the next ward, blinked, then smiled, and headed toward the elevators.
—
That night, Sang Yijia and the Sang family slept peacefully and comfortably. Yet there were a few who did not enjoy such restful sleep.
Shen Jin never expected that someone had taken photos of his past escapades and posted them online.
The agent spent the entire night handling the crisis, temporarily suppressing the trending topic, and publicly clarified that the photos were fake.
But for some reason, as soon as the clarification was released, several influencers came forward to verify, proving the photos were genuine with not a trace of Photoshop. The agent was caught completely off guard.
“Tell me, who did you offend?” The agent felt it unlikely someone would target Shen Jin without reason, convinced he must have angered someone recently.
Shen Jin racked his brain, but could recall nothing, “I haven’t! I’ve been filming variety shows lately, where would I find time to offend anyone?”
Shen Jin was genuinely wronged.
“How many times did I warn you not to fool around? Now look, someone found evidence against you.” The agent sighed deeply, head aching. “Now everyone online knows exactly what kind of person you are.”
“All you can do now is admit your mistake.”
Shen Jin opened his mouth, reluctant to admit fault—he knew it would cost him fans. But given the circumstances, he had no choice.

“Alright.” Shen Jin agreed.
Meanwhile, Lan Qing had tried all night to contact Shen Jin, to no avail. When she saw the agent Jian Hong’s number in the morning, she instinctively wanted to refuse the call, but didn’t have the courage. She dared not ignore Jian Hong.
“Sister Hong, what’s wrong?” Lan Qing asked timidly, then quickly added, “I really tried, but I couldn’t reach Shen Jin.”
On the other end, Jian Hong laughed coldly, “Of course you can’t. Now the whole internet is talking about Shen Jin eating three chickens in one night.”
“What?” Lan Qing didn’t understand at first, but after a moment, she reacted, “Sister Hong, is this true?”
“Is Shen Jin really like that?” But then Lan Qing thought about it—Shen Jin was the young master of the Shen family, it was only natural for him to play around.
“Has the Shen family made a statement?” Lan Qing now focused on that.
Jian Hong shook her head, “Shen Jin’s scandal is enough to cover up your own problem for now.”
“This morning, look a bit worn out, record a video apologizing, and promise to focus on acting in the future. That will do.” Jian Hong had been wondering how to resolve Lan Qing’s issue, never expecting a bigger scandal to erupt overnight. In a way, Lan Qing’s luck was exceptionally good.
Lan Qing was stunned, then absent-mindedly agreed.
—
Morning.
Lan Qing posted an apology video, Shen Jin published a letter of apology.
The two posted their apologies on social media only a second apart, and that single second immediately drew countless onlookers.
[So, are they coordinating this?]
[Interesting, what a pair—the scumbag and the green tea girl suit each other well.]
[I’ve seen plenty of posts about them together before, fans always saying how sweet they are. Why aren’t they saying it now?]
