Seeing Sang Yijia staring at him, Lu Wenchuan lowered his gaze, contemplating how best to respond.

After a moment, Sang Yijia curled her lips into a faint smile and said, "Isn't it quite nice to be a little ahead of schedule?"

"Mm." Lu Wenchuan nodded. He looked up just as the traffic light turned green.

"I've thought of an answer to your question from earlier," Lu Wenchuan said while driving. "I will explain everything clearly once the time is right."

"But it seems quite good as it is now," he added, turning the steering wheel. "This way, we can be together a little sooner."

"Mm," Sang Yijia replied.

Lu Wenchuan continued, "So, are we boyfriend and girlfriend now?"

"That requires an evaluation," Sang Yijia said after some thought. She felt that although they had just agreed to give it a try, it wouldn't be right to say they weren't a couple either.

"Fair enough. Then let's consider it as such."

"I accept your evaluation," Lu Wenchuan said. "How about we use this program to get to know each other and see how it goes?"

"Alright."

As they spoke, Lu Wenchuan drove to the base of the Shengchuang Technology Building. "Want to see my office?"

"Sure." Sang Yijia had nowhere else to go for the moment, and she thought it would be a good opportunity to see Lu Wenchuan's working environment and understand him on a deeper level.

"I have a secretarial team here," Lu Wenchuan said, his brow furrowing as he remembered that many of them were women. He wondered if Sang Yijia would mind.

"Jiajia, there is something I want to tell you," Lu Wenchuan said as he parked his Lamborghini in his usual spot.

Before unbuckling his seatbelt, he turned to look at her. "In this company, I prioritize individual ability. It has nothing to do with gender."

"Of course, that’s what I think, too." Before she had transmigrated into this book, Sang Yijia’s company had been relatively fair, though even then, they had preferred to hire more men because female employees required more leave, which could affect operations. She understood this well.

Seeing that she wasn't joking, Lu Wenchuan breathed a sigh of relief and continued, "Most of my secretarial team are female employees." He noted that women were generally more meticulous, making them well-suited for the role. "My assistant team, however, is mostly male," he added, watching her expression. "My personal assistant is male."

"I don't mind things related to work," Sang Yijia replied straightforwardly. "Of course, that includes my trust in you."

Lu Wenchuan felt completely at ease. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," Sang Yijia replied.

The two got out of the car and headed to the private elevator that led directly to the office floors. After they left, Lu Wenchuan's driver returned and immediately spotted the green Lamborghini. Irritated, he pulled out his phone to call the secretary.

"What’s going on? Why is someone parked in the CEO's spot? And a green Lamborghini at that—is this some kind of message?"

The secretary was stunned by the call and immediately messaged the group chat, demanding to know whose car was parked in the wrong place so it could be moved. No one claimed it. Thinking quickly, she told the driver to park nearby and promised to resolve it once the owner was found. The driver, though reluctant, parked and walked over, glancing at the Lamborghini. He felt it looked familiar, as if he had seen it somewhere before.

Lu Wenchuan took Sang Yijia directly to the office floor. Upon exiting the elevator and turning the corner, one could see the office area, clearly divided between the men and the women.

"The left side is the assistant team, and the right is the secretarial team," Lu Wenchuan explained briefly. "I usually take the assistants on business trips." It wasn't that he disliked taking female secretaries, but most trips involved business dinners, and he rarely allowed female staff to attend those. If they did, he would have male staff accompany them, and he avoided alcohol whenever possible. This was a rule of the Lu Group, and other companies had to respect it when working with them. This policy had even made the company a popular choice for young female college graduates.

Sang Yijia looked on without saying a word. However, the fact that Lu Wenchuan had brought a woman up and introduced her caused a stir among the staff.

In the "Shengchuang Family" group chat:
[Chief Assistant, Chief Assistant, Chief Assistant!]
[Whose young lady is this?]
[You guys must not watch variety shows—that's Sang Yijia!]
[The one on the show with the CEO!]
[So, is Sang Yijia the future CEO's wife?]

The head secretary frowned as she read the messages and tagged all members in the group. [Working hours—please focus on your work.]

The group immediately went silent, though the smaller, private sub-groups remained lively.
[Did you see her expression?]
[Saw it. It was terrible.]
[She's been the head secretary for so long and thinks she has a chance since the CEO is single.]
[She's just relying on her title, but the CEO doesn't even look at her.]

There were dozens of smaller groups among the eight staff members, and there was always one group where someone was missing. The head secretary looked at the three women at the next workstations; she knew they were likely bad-mouthing her in other chats, but she had grown used to it over the past two years. However, this time, she looked toward Lu Wenchuan's office. The windows were obscured, and she couldn't see what was happening inside. What did Sang Yijia have that she didn't? The head secretary couldn't fathom it, her lips pressed tightly together.

A moment later, the chief assistant returned, and a group of people swarmed around him with questions.

The office had excellent soundproofing, but Sang Yijia could see the group of shadows through the glass. "Aren't you going to manage them?"

"It’s still their lunch break," Lu Wenchuan replied. He had a small tea room in his office; he usually brewed his own tea or coffee, rarely needing assistants or secretaries for such tasks. "What would you like to drink?" He opened the cabinet to check, but it was filled exclusively with black coffee, which he didn't think was suitable for her.

"Plain water is fine," Sang Yijia said, withdrawing her gaze. She looked around the office environment again. She had expected a minimalist black-and-white style typical of CEOs, but Lu Wenchuan’s office was decorated in refreshing, natural greens that were easy on the eyes. She liked it immediately.

"Wait a moment." Lu Wenchuan retrieved an unused mug and filled it with warm water. He made a mental note to stock up on snacks that girls liked and to prepare personal items for Sang Yijia, especially a mug. He already had the idea of buying a matching pair.
