As Chen Gu was arranging the affairs of the Jade Worker Ants, a Corpse Vine suddenly burst forth from the ground.

All of the vines on this creature were dragging a massive object. It was a boulder as tall as a person, covered in undead corpses of various sizes. These bodies had fused with the stone, their color turned to an abyssal black. As Chen Gu approached, every single corpse on the stone turned its head to fix its gaze upon him.

"What a massive City Heart," Chen Gu remarked, recognizing it at a glance.

The previous flood had completely demolished the administrative building of this undead city, and naturally, the city’s heart had been swept away. Following Chen Gu’s orders, the Corpse Vine had spent a considerable amount of time tracking it down.

This was the first time Chen Gu had ever seen a City Heart of such proportions. Previous ones he had encountered were, at most, the size of a human head. With a scale like this, it was no wonder it could support the energy requirements of a Level 9 city.

Chen Gu surveyed the artifact, then reached out and pressed his hand against it.

[You have discovered a City Heart: Natural Demon Trace]
[City Heart - Natural Demon Trace: Can be used to construct an undead city at a designated location. It specializes in converting natural species into undead and has a maximum city level of 9.]

Seeing the information before him, Chen Gu could not help but sigh. It seemed the legends were true; the undead truly had a way of converting anything. This "Natural Demon Trace" was a prime example. The undead had originally chosen to build a city here precisely because millions of elves had perished on this soil.

Now, it was a matter of whether Chen Gu could convert this into a City Heart he could utilize. After all, such a massive artifact certainly shouldn't go to waste. His plan was to place this City Heart on the plains newly carved out by the flood, using the vast expanse of land to establish a new Level 9 city. This would replace the long-lost Changfeng City in controlling the surrounding region, providing him with a steady stream of troops and resources.

Chen Gu had previously converted two undead City Hearts. One was given to Shengyan to build a new city, and the other had become the *Tengguang*, which now served as his mobile base. At the time, his method of synthesis had been to use fire to purge the undead aura within the heart. However, that approach would clearly not work for this one. He had used fire previously because he intended to give the heart to Shengyan for a fire-elemental city. This time was different; he had no need for another city of fire. For agriculture, elves and humans were a much better fit. He needed to rethink his synthesis strategy.

Just as Chen Gu was deep in thought, a magical glow suddenly erupted from the *Tengguang*'s temporary camp. He turned to look and saw that the *Tengguang*'s Mage Tower had finally been completed. Putting the synthesis issue aside for the moment, he left his work and hurried toward the carriage that had been transformed into the tower.

The carriage had changed completely. Now that it was stationed as a camp, the various attachments were deployed. Both sides of the carriage had window shutters opened, resembling a tavern bar counter, though with a different flair. On the left platform sat herbs, potion bottles, and a cauldron brewing concoctions. On the right, purple curtains hung, accompanied by a crystal ball and burning incense. A quick glance told Chen Gu that one side was for selling potions, while the other was for divination. This was clearly the unique feature of this Mage Tower.

As he prepared to enter, the carriage door opened, and an elf woman in purple gauze robes stepped out.

"Greetings, my lord. I am Ailian, the manager of the Mage Tower. Please allow me to explain the situation regarding this mobile tower."

"Proceed," Chen Gu said.

Ailian took the lead, gesturing as she spoke: "As you have seen, my lord, the exterior features the potion window on the left, which can sell ten potions daily. It primarily offers mana potions, but if we can obtain other herbs on our travels, we can produce Lion King Potions, Berserker Potion, Healing Potions, and the like. The right side is the divination station, which allows for two readings per day, whether for locating items or ensuring safety on the road ahead."

As they spoke, Chen Gu stepped inside.

The interior of the carriage was modest, covering only about twelve square meters. It contained nothing more than two high-backed chairs and a small writing desk, with every other space piled high with dried herbs, magical materials, and books. The first thing Chen Gu noticed upon entering was a basin filled with water hanging from the ceiling. It was the Fortified Magic Pool he had earned upon completing his previous town quest.

Seeing Chen Gu’s gaze, Ailian smiled. "This is all thanks to you, my lord, for building such a Fortified Magic Pool. Without it, this Mage Tower would hardly be worth showing off."

"The pool is useful to me as well; it wasn't prepared solely for your sake," Chen Gu replied politely.

"Even so, my lord may not realize that it is precisely because of this pool that our tower hasn't suffered a reduction in effectiveness despite being a mobile base. Without the Fortified Magic Pool, our Mage Tower would be one level lower than those in permanent cities. A Level 1 tower would only be able to teach four spells, leaving us at an inherent disadvantage."

Hearing this, Chen Gu silently marveled that even the smallest town quests should never be underestimated.

"What kind of spells can we learn here, and in what disciplines?"

"Our tower currently focuses on three areas: Divination, Potion Crafting, and Elemental Magic. There are two elemental spells, both centered on Earth elements, one in potion craft, and two types of divination—standard divination and astromancy," Ailian explained.

Chen Gu suddenly remembered the several spellbooks he carried. He immediately retrieved the *Insect Potion Manual* and the *Biological Alchemy Manual*.

"Take a look and see if these books are of any use to you."

Chen Gu had read the *Biological Alchemy Manual* himself and had mastered the production of three alchemical potions, so he knew exactly what the manual contained. It was precisely because he understood the direction in which the Mage Tower was heading that he had brought these books out.

Ailian accepted the two volumes, opened them for a cursory look, and immediately replied: "Please wait a moment, my lord, I shall process these at once."
