Seven days later, Chen Gu emerged from the magic tower in the Forest Garden.

Throughout those seven days, Chen Gu did nothing but synthesize and meditate. Had it not been for the replenishment provided by the magic pool within the tower, he likely could not have sustained such high-intensity synthesis and labor. Over the course of these seven days, however, Chen Gu finally received a great deal of good news.

First, all the villages and towns in the Longfeng Territory had been activated. Chen Gu had left this matter entirely to Pan to handle; he would not be dispatching any heroes of his own there. Pan, being a man of vision, understood that Chen Gu would not provide him with extra manpower, so he immediately built a tavern in Longfeng City. Once the tavern was completed, two new heroes were dispatched to nearby villages. Their orders were to take control of the activated villages and construct new taverns. Once those were built, four more heroes would be sent to new settlements. In this way, the numbers would grow from two to four, four to eight, and eight to sixteen. By the fourth day, Pan had completed the occupation of all villages and towns, ensuring that at least one hero was managing each location.

With heroes in place, the development of the villages and towns became straightforward. Pan’s plan was to prioritize population growth. He focused on restoring various training camps, and as for resources and gold, he borrowed them from the Forest Garden, intending to pay them back once they had the means. What they lacked most was population; once that was addressed, everything else would fall into place. Pan’s strategy proved correct. By the seventh day, the Longfeng Guard, assigned to Longfeng City, began to take shape. Two heroes, leading newly trained fairies, flower spirits, and wood spirits, patrolled the territory. They were currently clearing out threats within the Longfeng Territory and securing all mineral resources to provide supplies for Longfeng City. One could say that the Longfeng Territory was now on its feet. As long as no major conflict occurred, it wouldn't be long before the Longfeng Legion that Chen Gu required was established. At that point, Chen Gu would be able to deploy these troops for various missions.

Next, Chen Gu received a letter from Allen. It had been carried back by a Fire Spirit Crow that Chen Gu had dispatched to the Holy City. Allen had been helpless regarding Chen Gu’s disappearance into the Elf Queen’s tomb beneath the Holy Lake. After Chen Gu left, Allen had not been idle; he had strived to find ways to strengthen himself. As the first hero to follow Chen Gu, Allen understood him the best. He knew clearly that Chen Gu would not abandon the Holy City, so upon realizing Chen Gu had vanished, he immediately set a goal for himself: to capture all the islands in the Holy Lake. Fearing a repeat of the twenty-thousand water elemental incident, Allen explored each island with extreme caution. His efforts were not in vain. By the time the crow arrived, he had already explored about thirty percent of the islands in the Holy Lake and had found many items.

Among these were a large number of artifacts that only elf heroes could use, including a replica of the legendary Elf Phantom Bow. This Phantom Bow was one of the most mysterious items of the elven race, crafted from a Divine Wood Bow, the tail hair of a Sacred Unicorn, and Wind Spirit Arrows. Beyond increasing the wielder's attack power, the Phantom Bow boosted long-range attack potency by 100% and granted the user 3 levels of Archery. Most importantly, the Phantom Bow dealt the same amount of damage to any target within its range. In other words, as long as the target was theoretically within range, the hero using the Phantom Bow could achieve precise strikes; whether the target stood ten meters away or a hundred, the damage dealt remained identical. This Phantom Bow had once been a treasure of the Elf Gods, and even including replicas, there were only eleven in existence among the elves. Allen was quite thrilled to have found such a set. Of course, he remembered his place and reported this to Chen Gu rather than keeping it for himself.

He also mentioned that while exploring the islands, he had found several City Hearts with a cap of around level 5. These were pure elven City Hearts. They appeared on these islands because the elven nobles had family members to consider, often arranging for them to become heroes in various legions or providing them with a City Heart to build their own cities. Consequently, most elven noble families kept one or two City Hearts hidden away. When the elven nobles fled, some had taken these hearts with them, hoping to build new cities elsewhere, but these remaining ones had clearly been left behind in the haste. After obtaining these, Allen had not acted impulsively by sending them over or attempting to rebuild in the Elven Holy City; he simply stored them, awaiting Chen Gu’s instructions.

Chen Gu was very pleased to read Allen’s reply. Although the letter was brief, Chen Gu could tell that Allen’s harvest was significant. It wasn't just artifacts; he had surely obtained hero credentials and perhaps even new subordinates. However, Chen Gu was too far away to contact him directly. Chen Gu pondered for a moment and then picked up the Brain Bug Communicator that had just been delivered. This was the third piece of good news he had received over the last seven days. The ambitious Brain Bug had finally developed the device. It had sent over not only a prototype but also the production methods and formulas. As long as Chen Gu planted an Emerald Hive nearby and provided it with the instructions, it could produce these new communicators.

The Brain Bug used as a communicator was only one-third the size of a normal one, as it did not need to command Emerald Ant troops. It also featured a chitinous shell to prevent it from being easily damaged. With this communicator, one could contact other devices directly. If an Emerald Ant network was available, the range was unlimited; without the network, the device could still communicate with others up to five hundred kilometers away, which was essentially real-time contact. Upon seeing the Brain Bug Communicator, Chen Gu immediately wanted to equip all his heroes with one, especially Allen, who was over a thousand kilometers away and in desperate need of a reliable way to communicate.
