Volume One: The Hell-Level Lord World Chapter 76: The Holy Light Nine-Headed Serpent
"Your situation seems dire. Do you have a magic tower? I can help you."
Chen Gu immediately noticed that things outside were not going well.
The undead leader appeared to have calculated everything in advance.
All of it targeted the forces within the Crow Nest Marsh.
Chen Gu had no intention of letting the city he had painstakingly acquired fall to the undead, so he promptly offered to help Peter handle the crisis at hand.
"There is a magic tower, but it hasn't been deployed yet. At the moment, we can't provide you with enough magical power."
Peter instantly understood Chen Gu's intentions.
To be honest, if they had city walls or a magic tower now, the undead would have no way of breaking in directly.
Chen Gu then asked, "What about the three types of rain that just affected the outside? Can they be used?"
"That was the accumulated power of Brufid and the Hydra over many years. It could only be used once, and now it's unavailable."
If possible, Peter naturally wished to use that torrential rain again.
After all, it was a devastating move capable of clearing everything in its path.
But there was simply no way to use it now.
At this moment, Chen Gu was already thinking quickly, "How did they create the rain?"
"That wasn't rain. The Hydra expelled its innate powers into the sky. The name Hydra suggests nine heads, but it actually only has three, each controlling fire, frost, and poison.
Each head manages one element, and only after advancing to the fully black Hydra can they freely control all three attributes.
However, their own capacity is limited; after a day's rest, they can only expel three times at most. The rainfall you saw was their years of accumulated essence."
"I see. So the Hydra basically sprayed all the liquid it had stored over the years into the sky, right?"
Chen Gu asked.
"That's correct. Of course, that's all I know. If you want more details, you'll need to speak with Brufid."
"No need for that. I have an idea. I brought some water from the Sacred Lake; it has a restraining effect on the undead. Could you spare me a few Hydras and some mosquitoes? This might be our chance against the undead."
"Of course. Crow Nest City will always fight for the Sacred City."
Peter replied immediately, "But this place isn't convenient. I'll send you up now, and the Hydra will be arranged shortly."
"Alright, let's head to the surface." Chen Gu knew this wasn't the place for synthesis, so he agreed with Peter's suggestion.
Ascending from beneath the marsh to the surface, Chen Gu noticed he was positioned at the very center of the swamp.
At his arrival, several snake heads emerged from the muddy waters.
Each upright snake head towered over ten meters high, with an even longer body buried beneath the muck.
The Hydras glanced at Chen Gu with a hint of confusion in their eyes, but none showed any intent to attack him.
"Come over here."
Chen Gu pointed to a spot and took out some of the Sacred Lake's water he had brought with him.
[Hydra] + [Holy Water] = [??? (Success rate: 61.5%)]
That was a decent chance, but Chen Gu's supply of holy water was limited; he estimated he could synthesize at most twenty Hydras.
He could only hope this new Hydra would prove effective against the undead.
"Synthesize."
With Chen Gu's command, the holy water surged forth automatically.
The holy water transformed into glowing white droplets, falling onto the body of one Hydra.
The creature swiftly began to change; its red, blue, and green scales fell away instantly.
The other Hydras, seeing this, moved to help their companion.
But unexpectedly, the transformed Hydra let out a roar,
halting their approach. The creature rolled on the ground, and with each roll, more skin peeled away.
Soon, the Hydra grew new skin, no longer red, blue, or green, nor the black color of an advanced Hydra.
Instead, it was a pure, spotless white; only its eyes remained red, blue, and green, marking the power each head controlled.

Description: This Hydra has been strengthened by the power of holy light. Besides its usual attack methods, it now wields holy light abilities.
Seeing the newly emerged Holy Light Hydra, the other Hydras stared in awe.
They weren't foolish; they all understood the immense benefits of this transformation.
Not only did it grant them new abilities, it also didn't hinder their further advancement.
So several Hydras immediately approached Chen Gu, hoping to be transformed as well.
Chen Gu quickly explained, "Synthesis is no problem, but my holy water is limited. I can only transform twenty Hydras at once, and the success rate is about sixty percent, so there may be failures."
Even so, the Hydras continued to move forward, eager for greater power.
Seeing their determination, Chen Gu decided to give them a chance.
He selected twenty Hydras, had them stand aside, and poured out all the holy water he had brought.
"Synthesize!"
As the synthesis began, Chen Gu said to them, "You are naturally suited for this transformation. Once this battle is over, I will bring you all to the Sacred Lake in the Sacred City, and there I will transform every Hydra into a Holy Light Hydra."
The ordinary Hydras rolling in the swamp showed little reaction to Chen Gu's words.
But the Brufid Peter mentioned heard Chen Gu through the Hydras.
In the elven system, Crow Nest City was an awkward existence.
The beasts trained here were not those elves typically used.
Thus, the heroes of Crow Nest City had only heard of the Sacred City, never visited it.
Now, Chen Gu promised to take them there—even if only in words—and it excited them greatly.
