Chen Gu glanced at Brufid and realized that this man’s ideas were indeed unique. It seemed that the success of certain families was never mere luck—it always had its reasons.

“Of course, I offer all kinds of services here. Would you like to try it now?” Chen Gu smiled at Brufid. “Do you have anything in mind? My abilities can help you merge with special items—perhaps some Holy Water?”

Brufid shook his head decisively. “No, can you see if I can merge with them instead?” He pointed behind himself.

Chen Gu looked in the direction Brufid indicated and saw a pitch-black hydra standing there.

“Good idea. Let me check the success rate for you,” Chen Gu agreed immediately.

Brufid added, “My grandfather has always pondered a question. The hydra is called ‘nine-headed,’ yet it only has three heads. He has been searching for a solution to this problem. I wanted to ask—can the hydra actually become nine-headed?”

Chen Gu considered the question carefully for a while before replying, “It’s somewhat difficult. I’ve observed your hydras here. The reason they only have three heads is because they possess just three attributes. When they advance, they simply allow the attributes to be shared among the heads, but no new attribute is added. So even if a hydra becomes a hydra monster, it can’t grow a fourth head. When I use Holy Water for synthesis, theoretically a fourth head should appear, but your hydra’s body just turned white instead. This suggests that the attributes within the hydra are balanced. Once that balance is broken, the situation changes.”

Having spent so much time in the game, Chen Gu was already well-versed in his pet synthesis talent; he could spot the problem at once.

“If you want your hydra to grow six heads, or even nine, you’ll need corresponding synthesis materials—added in groups of three. Only by maintaining the hydra’s balance can synthesis succeed.”

Upon hearing this, Brufid said, “It requires all that? Can I prepare them now?”

“Certainly,” Chen Gu affirmed. “Gather everything you need. If you want to synthesize in bulk, you’ll need as many materials as you have hydras. If you don’t want to do individual synthesis, you’ll need to modify the hydra’s nest. The materials will need to be of higher quality, but you’ll require fewer of them. Once the nest synthesis succeeds, you can have your hydras advance within it.”

Brufid immediately responded, “With your guidance, I finally have a direction. I’d like to ask, if I merge with a hydra, and it grows from three heads to six, then nine, can I advance again at each stage?”

“Absolutely.”

Chen Gu could state this with certainty. His pet synthesis was not limited to a single opportunity. He could synthesize endlessly. Continuous strengthening was the way his pets and heroes grew.

Brufid was a discerning hero, and Chen Gu held him in high regard.

Brufid understood at last. He approached Chen Gu. “Sir, please help me strengthen myself.”

“Very well. Please stand over here. You’ll be merging with…”

“That one.”

A colossal hydra monster appeared behind Brufid. The portion of its body standing upright was already fifteen meters tall, not to mention the part submerged beneath the marsh.

Gazing at the enormous hydra, Chen Gu nodded and promptly began the synthesis.

[Mutant Druid (Elf Hero)] + [Hydra Monster (Level 7)] = [??? (Success Rate: 69.7%)]

“Success rate is seventy percent—shall we try?”

“Of course.” Brufid smiled confidently.

He believed without a doubt that he would succeed.

So Chen Gu nodded and pointed at Brufid.

Under Chen Gu’s ability, Brufid’s body was propelled directly toward the hydra monster behind him. His body exploded instantly, leaving only a head and a segment of spine flying toward the hydra.

The hydra lifted itself, and Brufid’s head settled atop its body.

Immediately, the hydra began rolling wildly across the marsh.

Peter and Kebas approached, observing the situation.

They noticed that Brufid’s tiger face had reverted to a normal human face, with pointed ears marking his return to his elven identity.

Witnessing this, Peter and Kebas shed tears.

The three of them had sacrificed so much for the sealing of Crow’s Nest City. When they began, they were ordinary elven druids. Now, one had the face of a treant, another that of a tiger.

They had thought they would never return to their former selves.

Now, Chen Gu had shown them another path, and how could they not be moved?

At that moment, the hydra monster rolling on the ground began to contract. From its original height of over ten meters, it shrank rapidly until it stood only three meters tall.

Within the protection of three serpent heads stood Brufid’s complete body.

Brufid now had all four limbs, his skin covered in black-scaled armor. Upon turning, it was clear that three serpent heads had sprouted from his sides and spine.

The serpent heads had shrunk considerably, but their agility had increased immensely.

Most importantly, Brufid could freely control the three serpent heads on his body.

Seeing Brufid’s smiling face, Chen Gu smiled as well—the synthesis had succeeded.
