Kaba Dur interrupted, "Commander, I think it’s better to discuss this face-to-face. Besides, the enemy can only use electromagnetic railguns against our air forces for now. Soon, after Zhang’s team had set up their ambush and prepared for long-range sniper attacks, Dadu Kur arrived at the designated airport, about to board a disc-shaped transport ship that had been waiting.

Upon spotting Dadu Kur, Zhang immediately ordered full alert, and two snipers took aim.

The Galaxy Empire’s flanking troops from Kobdo had advanced faster than expected and had just arrived at the Ormei Empire’s Brunei command center.

Zhang and his team had heard this bugle before inside the Mountain Base—first Goba Xiaofu’s, then unexpectedly Yuri Gotne’s—so they immediately recognized the attackers.

Meanwhile, the Ormei Empire’s forces, leaderless due to the sudden loss of their commander, descended into chaos and disorder. The Galaxy Empire troops pressed forward, steadily closing in.

Amidst the turmoil, Zhang’s special forces began a rapid retreat.

Back in the Ormei Empire’s Brunei communication room, all signal operators simultaneously sent urgent distress transmissions to their capital, Prairie City, and the new command center in Uliyasutai:

“Help! Help! Enemy surprise attack on Brunei, commander is dead! Help! Help! Enemy surprise attack on Brunei, commander is dead!”

Shock rippled through the command centers in both Uliyasutai and Prairie City.

For Zhang and his team, the Galaxy Empire’s arrival was both timely and untimely. Timely, because it successfully covered their presence, preventing the Ormei Empire from detecting them immediately; untimely, because enemy forces were converging from the west, north, and south, threatening to encircle them.

Facing the rapidly closing encirclement, Zhang and his comrades likely had no choice but to fight fiercely to carve a bloody path and break through the siege.
