“Do you wish to use a spin of the roulette for a chance?” As soon as he entered, the GM asked.

“Yes!” He still had even greater crises ahead—he couldn't afford to pass up any opportunity to improve himself.

In an instant, a roulette wheel enveloped in dazzling golden light appeared in Chen Ling’s mind. Only after a closer look did he realize that a beautiful woman was engraved upon it, her gentle eyes and the slight upward curve of her lips radiating warmth and grace.

This must be the goddess of victory, bestowing the radiance of triumph upon her believers—a gentleness and warmth that were her finest traits, or so most would think…

Victory? It's merely a divine seat born from conflict, nothing more than an appendage of strength! Chen Ling scoffed at the goddess of victory. Still, that didn’t mean he’d refuse the reward—only a fool would do that!

Following the GM’s instructions, Chen Ling pressed his right hand on the luminous center of the wheel (not on the goddess’s chest), and the roulette began to spin slowly… The goddess’s right hand brushed past one prize after another, making Chen Ling’s heart itch with desire.

“My holy sword, my divine gun, my invincible skills, my...!” Chen Jing even began to suspect that the goddess of victory could hear his thoughts.

To his dismay, the goddess’s hand finally stopped on a deck of cards!

It seems I can never escape cards.

[God of Cards’ Deck] (Class): Complete the class quest to obtain the [God of Cards] class. 1. Gain a unique God of Cards skill with each major class advancement. 2. Card-related skills and weapons are optimized upon learning or use. 3. Once learned, this class cannot be washed away! 4. Unlimited acquisition of card skills.

“Doesn’t seem all that special…” Chen Ling flipped the deck in his hands, a habit born of his profession. Back when Xue Lan tried to break him of it, he’d failed—no matter how he tried, it had become second nature. Whenever he held anything card-shaped, he couldn’t help but start shuffling, flipping, and performing tricks.

“King-level card technique detected, auto-possession mode initiating… Possession complete!”

“What the hell is this?!”

The [God of Cards’ Deck] vanished from his hand, and a strange voice in his ear announced he’d been possessed… Chen Ling’s thoughts were thrown into chaos.

“Congratulations on obtaining the super-divine class [God of Cards]. You’ve gained the following basic skills: [Card Shot] (Passive, Level 1, upgradable): unlimited attacks with Level 1 cards; [Card Mastery] (Not upgradable): learn any card-related skill, such as Card Seal, Cardcrafting, and more.

[God’s Blessing] (Passive, not upgradable): 50% increased chance of acquiring card skills; [Card Control] (Passive, not upgradable): improved card skills and weapon effects; [Divine Fixation] (Passive, not upgradable): this class cannot be removed!”

“This is a bit too direct! No class quest at all?!”

“Current level detected: Human. You have gained the class skill [Double Card Shot] (Active, upgradable): fire two cards in succession, with the second card’s power halved… Due to [Card Control], the power of [Double Card Shot] equals base power times the number of cards fired!”

“… It seems that being a master at something is always useful wherever you go!” Chen Ling couldn’t help but sigh.

Wait! He still had skills left to learn! Chen Ling took out the skill book dropped by Brutality and chose to learn it. A flash of light, and the GM announced: “Successfully learned [Three Beast Forms].”

The passive ability of the Lizard King activated, filling Chen Ling’s legs with boundless strength. With a single leap, he crossed nearly five meters, drawing excited exclamations from those around him. Everyone knew this must be the skill contributed by Brutality—after all, Chen Ling’s final blow to the boss had been announced to the whole team. Of course, the [God of Cards’ Deck] from the goddess’s roulette was not announced.

Chen Ling then used his black coins to buy a series of supplies. With a backpack, he didn’t have to worry about carrying too much…

“AV rifle (don’t get the wrong idea…) – 100 black coins; 200 serum bullets – 230 black coins; extended magazine – 8 black coins; five Level 1 grenades – 15 black coins; basic military knife – 10 black coins; Nepalese kukri – 20 black coins; basic body armor – 10 black coins; rifle grenade launcher – 22 black coins; three grenades – 30 black coins; infrared goggles – 5 black coins. Altogether, 450 black coins.”

He equipped what he could, stowing the rest in his backpack. After finishing, Chen Ling let out a heavy sigh. It seems that having money isn’t always a good thing… If anyone else heard him say that, they’d want to string him up on the spot.

Looking at Chen Ling’s excellent gear, then at their own equipment bought with just 100 black coins—there was simply no comparison!

Some couldn’t help but think, If only I’d landed the final blow—all of that would be mine! Even some of Chen Ling’s earliest teammates, including that god-tier actor…

As Chen Ling was attaching the rifle grenade launcher, he felt a venomous gaze. Following the feeling, he spotted the god-tier actor, Li Xin! When Li Xin realized Chen Ling had seen him, he hurriedly looked away, feigning innocence. Chen Ling shook his head. They all coveted his equipment, but none thought of how he’d earned it… His teacher’s words echoed in his mind: The most poisonous thing isn’t a woman’s heart—it’s the human heart itself!

“Weizi, this gun’s for you. Catch!” Chen Ling tossed the GM-issued weapon to Liu Wei. After this battle, the four had grown closer, now addressing each other with much more warmth—like calling him “Little Chen Chen…”

“Thanks, boss!” Liu Wei knew Chen Ling had better weapons now, and besides, you never refuse someone’s first gift.

Liu Wei really was a soldier—his gun handling put Chen Ling and the others to shame with its professionalism.

Xingye bought a small machete for 15 black coins and an M4A1 for 30 black coins. Since Chen Ling had gifted him 50 bullets, he bought five grenades and a pair of infrared goggles, spending the rest on ammo. Zhang Long and Liu Wei did the same, though Liu Wei used the money from selling his old gun for extra bullets. Chen Ling spent his last 50 black coins on three vests and four bottles of fresh blood… He still didn’t understand why blood cost more than grenades, but better safe than sorry!

The four finished shopping and began browsing their permissions and information…

What they found shocked them—Chen Ling most of all.

Boss Codex: Records all bosses you’ve killed or encountered in the game! Boss Codex – Level 1 Boss: [Brutality]. Skills: Three Beast Forms. Weapon: Meteor Hammer. Status: Defeated (bug fixed).

A Level 1 boss this tough—what about the rest? The last line left Chen Ling dumbfounded. So it was a bug! No wonder the rewards were so generous—he’d helped the GM find a bug.

He continued browsing his quest interface… Below the Boss Codex was a Hall of Honors.

Hall of Honors: Records all honors and titles obtained—Boss Terminator (awarded for killing [Brutality]): Bosses deal 1% more damage to you, and you deal 1% more to them; neutral bosses’ favorability decreases.

GM’s Good Helper (for finding a game bug): Keep it up, young man! (Note: Title effects are not unique—all effects stack!)

Damn, no extra bonuses and being called a “young man!” But he couldn’t ignore the note: all title effects stack, no matter how many you have! Now that’s a real benefit—even if it’s for everyone.

Level Hall: Records your current level, the soul points needed for the next, and subsequent ranks (Note: Current class is [God of Cards], level title changes—Chen Ling: Card Novice 2nd rank, needs 395 soul points for rank 3; next titles are Card Adept, Card Master, Card Lord, Card King—further ranks locked without sufficient level).

“Damn!” Another howl of disbelief! I was once the King of Gamblers, and now I’m an apprentice?! Damn!

GM, you win!!!

This time, I’m asking for favorites and votes—my first time, after all…
