Gu Zhiheng remained utterly calm and composed about what he had just done, as if nothing had happened at all.

Similarly, Fang He felt no particular emotion about it either. A piece of human scum, so what if he was scared out of his mind?

Everything he suffered was just retribution. It was already merciful enough that he wasn’t directly obliterated into ashes, so one shouldn't demand too much more.

At that moment, the two of them went downstairs, sat among a group of grandpas and grandmas, gossiped, and told them about what had just transpired.

Seeing the elderly folks showing immense interest, Gu Zhiheng even shared what Li Yanni had told them. Upon hearing this, the grandmas instantly became fierce and combative, and had it not been for Fang He holding them back, they would have rushed right upstairs then and there.

People tend to sympathize with the vulnerable, and ghosts are no different. They longed to tear that brute to pieces to avenge Li Yanni.

"Alright, dear grandmas, there is a continuation to this matter that you will find out about during the day. The two of us brothers are going to check out other places." Finding his head throbbing from the grandmas' noisy chatter, Gu Zhiheng simply couldn't bear their endless chirping any longer.

Switching to another residential complex with Fang He, they waited for quite a while before the tardy young Daoist priest finally showed up. One look at him almost made Gu Zhiheng spit blood.

A Daoist priest? Was he damn sure this wasn't an underage kid?

Isn't this young Daoist priest a bit too young? He looked to be only about eleven or twelve years old!

The little brat walked straight up to Gu Zhiheng and Fang He, and the moment he opened his mouth, Fang He almost failed to restrain himself from taking action. "You two, die early and get reincarnated soon. Why haven't you gone to be reincarnated after being dead for so long?!"

"What the hell! Why on earth do I have a grand-disciple who courts death like this?!" Gu Zhiheng cursed angrily while raising his hand to deliver a slap to the little brat's head.

It was utterly speechless. Ever since he took members of the Gu family as disciples, not a single one of his subsequent disciples and grand-disciples had a normal brain. What kind of freaks were these?!

"Grand-disciple? Who are you? I don't seem to know anyone of your standing!" The little brat looked at Fang He with utter disdain, though his attitude toward Gu Zhiheng was much better.

Gu Zhiheng watched the show from the side, sensing that this little brat was extraordinary. Judging solely by his cultivation level, one could tell he was no ordinary Daoist priest.

"Handle the business here, and as for the grandpas and grandmas downstairs, persuade as many of them to leave as you can. Don't let them wander aimlessly around the mortal realm." Gu Zhiheng shoved a couple of high-tier talisman papers into the little brat's hands and told Fang He to shut up.

Since this kid presumably came from the Taoist temple funded by the Gu family, he and Fang He wouldn't need to meddle further. In any case, that little brat's nonstop babbling would be enough to resolve the issue.

Watching the little kid walk toward building number six, the two of them exchanged a smile. Kids were indeed easy to fool; give them a small benefit and they would run off like lightning.

"Let's go check out the rest. Those grandmas are walking gossip stations, so the two of us can go eat some melons and do some good deeds along the way." Gu Zhiheng walked forward in a leisurely manner, yet his eyes constantly scanned the surroundings.

Fang He found it pointless; rather than sleeping late at night, they had to run out and endure this suffering.

"You don't actually think I dragged you out here just to listen to gossip, do you?" How hilarious—shameless Fang He still didn't understand him well enough!

He then explained to Fang He, "That fellow Ye Qiong should have come down here. I sensed his aura, and I brought you along to check if it's true."

Things had seemed relatively peaceful lately, but unknown dangers could lurk around any corner, especially since Gu Zhiheng was about to undergo his heavenly tribulation. He just feared some chaotic mess would pop up and disrupt everything.

Gu Zhiheng took Fang He around several nearby residential complexes, chatting with the ghost grandmas and grandpas in the area, and they actually managed to pick up news about Ye Qiong.

As fate would have it, of all the coincidences, that little brat they had just met was none other than that absolute fool Ye Qiong.

Was it breaking the law for him to just act like himself after coming down?

Why on earth did he turn himself into a little brat for no reason, and why was he such a chatterbox on top of that? Who knew what was going on in that guy's head.

"Thanks a lot, grandpa and grandma. Go get reincarnated early when the opportunity is right!" Waving goodbye, the two walked back toward the original residential complex.

"Tell me, why did the big brother come down here? Could he be here to stop you?" It wasn't that Fang He was overly suspicious; it was just that Ye Qiong was crazy enough to do something like that.

He never played by the rules and always acted on sudden whims. If he wasn't happy, he was capable of doing literally anything.

"We'll know once we go over and take a look. He probably got disciplined by the old man or the old lady up there before running off down here." Gu Zhiheng knew Ye Qiong very well; the guy was a total shut-in who wouldn't step outside without a good reason.

Had he not been kicked out of his home, he would never have willingly left his own territory, wishing he never had to deal with any social interaction whatsoever.

"I told you, evil brings its own retribution—if it hasn't arrived yet, it's simply because the time hasn't come. Look, you've received your karma now!"

"I've told you before to treat your wife well, to have patience, and to cherish, love, and tolerate her. How come a guy like you just refuse to understand?"

"How good was your wife to you? Washing clothes, cooking, cleaning, and not even making twenty thousand a salary—you didn't put in any effort to better yourself, yet you actually drove her to her death. What on earth were you thinking?!"

He went on and on with his endless rambling for goodness knows how long. Standing at the doorway, Gu Zhiheng and Fang He were practically lulled to sleep, while the man wore a look of utter despair and tearful grievance.

This was simply too outrageous! The guy was a pure lecture-maniac whose mouth just wouldn't stop flapping once opened.

At that moment, the man would rather sit with the grandmas downstairs than share a room with this monster. It was practically killing him!

Talking way too much was sheer torture!

"Ye Qiong, why do you talk so much? Even we outside are getting annoyed. Doesn't your mouth get dry?" Fang He rubbed his temples. Could this guy please shut his trap for a second?

"Oh, you two are back again. I thought you guys had stayed down here for so long that you forgot who I was!" His tone carried a hint of arrogance, and his gaze toward the two was somewhat teasing.

In truth, the three of them had a pretty good relationship; it was just that Ye Qiong wasn't very bright sometimes, his thought process could be rigid, and his words tended to be rather harsh.

Fang He was also quite direct. Pointing a finger right at Ye Qiong's face, he retorted, "The grandmas downstairs are well-informed, you can just ask them if you want gossip. But you, who've always cared so much about your looks, actually turned into such an inconspicuous little brat!"

He had zero fondness for this fellow, and had Gu Zhiheng not insisted on seeing what the guy was up to down here, he wouldn't have bothered dealing with him at all.

Especially after chatting with the grandmas about gossip all night long, his ears were practically growing calluses, and he finally obtained the information Gu Zhiheng wanted right at the end.

"None of your business! Where I want to go is my own affair, and what I transform into isn't up to you to manage. Nosy!" With those words, the three of them directly turned invisible and headed outside.

Gu Zhiheng and Fang He tag-teamed and beat Ye Qiong up thoroughly. That fellow simply didn't know what was good for him!
