The street was bustling with people. Last time, Gu Zhiheng strolled alone; this time, someone accompanied him. Although Liu E nearly made him lose his temper today, his attitude remained quite pleasant, especially after being yelled at a few times. Since they had come to Jia City, Gu Zhiheng decided to show him around properly—after all, there would be many days ahead for them to spend together.

There were plenty of interesting places to visit in Jia City. Gu Zhiheng wasn’t very familiar with them, but he could always find someone to guide them—either Liu Qi or Wu Xiaowen. He was only acquainted with those two.

“Master, Master, you’re still in Jia City!” Liu Qi spotted Gu Zhiheng from afar and jogged over.

“Don’t run so fast. I can’t fly, you know,” Gu Zhiheng called out, amused that Liu Qi still remembered him despite the state he’d been in after drinking last time.

“My brother’s been missing these past two days—thanks for looking after him!” Liu Qi moved in for a hug, but Liu E shoved him aside at once.

Liu E eyed Liu Qi warily as he tried to approach Gu Zhiheng and yanked Gu Zhiheng behind him with a suspicious glare. Liu Qi was left dumbfounded by this display—did the Master have a girlfriend now? She was strikingly attractive, tall enough to match Gu Zhiheng, though her expression was exceedingly cold.

“Master, your girlfriend is gorgeous, you two are a perfect match!” Liu Qi blurted out whatever was on his mind, never bothering to filter his words.

At this, both Gu Zhiheng and Liu E’s faces darkened. Liu E strode forward and landed a vicious kick on Liu Qi, sending him sprawling a good distance away. Then, with casual arrogance, he sauntered up to Liu Qi, looked down at him, and declared, “I’m his big brother. If you can’t use your eyes properly, you might as well donate them.”

Gu Zhiheng chimed in, “He’s right—he is my big brother,” giving Liu Qi a few playful kicks before pulling Liu E back.

He worried that if Liu E lost his temper, he might accidentally take out this ordinary human with a single blow. There was nothing to be done—Liu E was just like Jun Lu’an, meek and obedient in front of him, but a ruthless brute in front of others.

“All right, since we’ve run into each other, show us around some fun places,” Gu Zhiheng said, seizing the opportunity for a free tour guide.

“Of course, Master, right away—my apologies for my earlier mistake.” Liu Qi dusted himself off and led them towards a nearby attraction.

This long-haired Master was truly strong—one kick had nearly done him in.

Jia City boasted plenty of tourist spots, and Liu Qi started guiding them to the nearest.

“No need for explanations, we’ll look around ourselves. My brother likes peace and quiet,” Gu Zhiheng said first, worried Liu E would ask endless questions otherwise.

He genuinely did love tranquility, and Gu Zhiheng resolved to endure for today—after all, Liu E had spent the whole day tagging along for free, so he should make a small sacrifice.

Liu Qi led them around for quite a while, and by dinnertime, took them to a rather upscale restaurant.

When Gu Zhiheng saw the name, he couldn’t help but twitch at the corners of his mouth—wasn’t this one of his family’s? A national chain with thousands of locations.

“P-President?” The manager, rounding the corner, gasped at the sight of Gu Zhiheng.

“Just here for a meal with friends. Go on about your business,” Gu Zhiheng replied, dismissing the manager at once—he always got a headache when people called him President.

He came out for a meal only to end up in his own restaurant.

“Master, this is your family’s place?” Liu Qi exclaimed. A national chain with thousands of branches! He never guessed that the young Master was not only skilled at divination but also came from such wealth. They seemed to be the same age, yet he was still slogging away at his studies while Gu Zhiheng was already a president. The comparison was crushing.

“Enough talk, order the food—my brother’s hungry,” Gu Zhiheng said, though it was really his own hunger, and Liu E was just his scapegoat.

The three men placed their order quickly and ate in silence, a calm atmosphere that Gu Zhiheng found just right. He liked things this way—no disturbances, everyone at ease.

Liu E had never dined in such a place before and felt somewhat out of his element, but after watching Liu Qi and Gu Zhiheng, he copied their mannerisms and managed to blend in quite well.

Though all three were grown men and ate with elegance, their pace was still rather brisk.

“Let’s go—meal’s done, my treat for drinks next,” Gu Zhiheng announced, gripping Liu E’s arm the whole way as if afraid he’d wander off.

Trailing behind, Liu Qi couldn’t help but think they looked like a couple. Their interactions were just so intimate. The Master was meticulous in looking after the long-haired Master, and the latter obeyed every word, endlessly compliant.

“Drink all you like—I’m a premium member here, and the owner’s my brother-in-law!” Gu Zhiheng said with a hint of pride, raising his brows.

He had to admit, it was a wise move pairing his sister with Mo Han—never again would they worry about food or clothing. Of course, he could also afford to support Chu Xingran, but he couldn’t tether Chu Xingran to his side forever. He was born under a star of ill fortune and wouldn’t drag Chu Xingran down with him.

Tonight, the bar was packed. Gu Zhiheng glanced up—if a fight broke out, the haul would be substantial. But it wasn’t worth the effort; none of what was there would do him any good. Hunting was just to pass the time, a waste of energy.

Besides, with Liu Qi—a regular human—in tow, he couldn’t make a move; some matters simply couldn’t be revealed to mortals.

“Master, see her? Ten meters away, the woman in the white miniskirt—that’s my girlfriend!” Liu Qi, never a strong drinker, was already a bit tipsy after two bottles. Yet he was not mistaken—there really was a girl in a white miniskirt about ten meters away.

She was quite pretty—and indeed, a red-tailed fox spirit. But her rank was too low to matter—Gu Zhiheng could dispose of her with no effort at all. Someone like Liu E, with just a touch of his aura, could frighten her into submission.

“That woman’s been trying to break up with me these past two days, and the man with his arm around her is her new catch,” Liu Qi said, his eyes flashing with hostility as he glared at the woman.

That wretch had killed his brother. She avoided him only because of the talisman on his person and switched to her next target without missing a beat. But he would not let her go so easily—she would not escape after killing his brother.

“Liu Qi, it’s not worth it for a woman—she’s not even that good-looking.” Liu E, sensing something off about Liu Qi, spoke up promptly.

There was a different scent on Liu Qi now, one that appeared only after entering the bar. At first, he carried the scent of the talisman Gu Zhiheng had given him, but now it had been replaced by the musky odor of the red-tailed fox.
