When Mulan returned home, his appearance nearly frightened Old Buck and Leo out of their wits. Upon learning that he had confronted that deranged killer and ultimately slain him, both Old Buck and Leo were left shaken to their core.

Leo immediately pressed Mulan for details of the confrontation, and together with Old Buck, listened intently, imagining the scene in their minds and repeatedly feeling their hearts race for Mulan’s sake.

Yet, no matter how terrified or shocked they were, what was done was done, and the Jonester family could finally sleep soundly that night. Of course, if anyone was destined to sleep most sweetly, it would surely be the detective from the Valentine Police Department.

The detective had devised countless plans and was preparing to launch a vigorous manhunt after the storm had passed. Even if they caught nothing, he meant to create the appearance of action. Unexpectedly, before the storm had even subsided, the deranged killer had already met his end.

Granted, it wasn’t the Valentine Police officers who struck the final blow, but Mulan Jonester was the younger brother of Detective Leo Jonester. It would not be unreasonable to say the operation was a joint effort with the Valentine Police Department.

That night, Mulan suffered another nightmare. In his dream, he was once again chasing the deranged killer...

“Mulan Jonester, you and I are the same kind…”

A mad voice echoed in the dim house. Mulan, breathing heavily, pressed himself against the door with his gun, his heartbeat thunderously loud. At that moment, he felt he could sense the killer’s emotions and mental state.

Cruel and insane, nearly unhinged, yet his body was filled with formidable strength.

The resonance of madness grew stronger, and Mulan felt as if it was himself standing inside with the knife!

As these thoughts swirled, Mulan’s perception blurred. He shook his head and opened his eyes. His vision cleared from hazy to sharp, and he was horrified to discover that he truly held a knife—a sharp boning blade—and his left hand was gripping a woman.

He was stunned, feeling two conflicting emotions within: one of shock and sympathy as he watched the woman cry and saw terror on her face, the other, a surge of mania and excitement. His right hand instinctively moved toward her throat.

But in the next instant, Mulan restrained his hand and shoved the woman away.

She screamed and fled, while a figure suddenly appeared at the doorway, raising a gun and firing into the room.

Bang! Bang! Ba
